In the questions related to classification chapter, Candidates have to choose the odd shape. In the question four shapes are given, three of which are identical but one have a slight difference, it is considered to be the answer. In these types of questions, the shapes can be related to each other in a variety of ways, including – rotating of shapes, positions of shapes, magnitude, type or relation between the figures or related to writing styles.
Example 1. Choose an odd shape from the given shapes.
Solution: (c) All shapes have been given ‘×’ based on the sides. The number of sides in the shapes is written in the number of the utensils ‘×’ but the figure (c) has six arms while the ‘×’ are five in it. Hence (C) is odd to all other shapes.
solution: Except (d), there is the same shape in the upper right corner as on the outer surface. Hence the figure (d) is odd.
Solution: Except (d) , the same figure is the smallest or the most insider, which is even smaller in the other two shapes, but the smallest figure in (d) is ‘△’. The small figure in both shapes is ‘□’. Therefore, even within the ‘□’ should have been the same shape. Hence the figure (d) is odd.
Solution: Except (d) half of the figure is shown again but this is not so in (d). ☐ ☐ will have partial _| _| Hence the figure (d) is odd.
Solution: In The two figures shown in the figure (a), (b), (c) and (d), The shape has been given four times in the same way as it has been given two times earlier, but in option (c) Two out of the four images have been reversed. Therefore, the shape (c) is odd.
